Belt Heaters

They usually contain terminal kits that facilitate installation. Belt heaters are used for injection molding drums and nozzles, extrusion and molding presses, pipe heating, heat treatment and autoclaves, food industry and other applications. Belt heaters are efficient and economical solutions for the heating needs of many applications. An expanding mica belt heater is an internally mounted belt heater that is especially useful when it only provides space for an item in a pipe or heating tool. Mica belt heaters are widely used for plastic injection molding and contact heating in machines, nozzles, tools, piping systems, and blow molds.

UL® component detection is available for applications up to 900°F for jacket temperature. Make sure that the voltage input to the heating tape does not exceed the permissible nominal voltage for the heating. If the heater contains screw terminals, remove the TOP nut and flat washers from the feed screw terminals.

For heaters with multiple straps, alternately tighten each belt until no additional tightening can be performed. Make sure that all surfaces of the barrel are clean and free of contaminants that can enter the heater through wiring, etc. to avoid electrical short circuits and/or heating failures. If thermocouples are part of the heater, make sure they are free of contaminants and have a good response to temperature changes to avoid overheating.

The elements are susceptible to moisture and must be stored or used in a dry environment. It is recommended to gently heat the elements after a long period of operation. This allows moisture to escape and prevent damage to the elements.

We make sure the inner surface is smooth and consistent in shape to avoid hot spots or poor fit. Belt heaters are made to order as they vary in size and performance. The area from which heaters are used is often exposed to liquids, and therefore the wires can be completed with Industrial Band Heater Manufacturer a protective cable. Cables can be installed from the front or edge of the heater to facilitate the installation of heaters in areas where space is limited. Cables can also be installed from a terminal housing and a braided metal jacket for additional protection if required.

In this case, it is advisable to use a “flexible band” or a hinged element. IHP provides heating systems, control systems and industrial services to many leading industrial companies in Europe. As a partner and supplier, we are known for our flexibility and high quality. For the past eight years, our field service has been on site within 24 hours of the first call within 24 hours, more than 98% of the time. Experience best-in-class performance with heat and process components that increase the efficiency of any system.

Belt heaters are thin and therefore ideal for effective heat transfer. Coated belt heaters consist of a tubular heating element formed according to the diameter of the part to be heated and held in place by an external clamping tape that acts as a reflector. These belt heaters are designed for a maximum operating temperature of 350°C and can be manufactured for easy installation and for large diameters in one or more parts. Mica tape heaters consist of a nickel-chromium resistance wire wrapped around a layer of mica, which is then placed between two additional mica blades. An outer jacket made of corrosion-resistant steel encloses and protects the wire and mica sheets. AlumaFlex belt heaters are perhaps our most robust industrial belt heater with a tubular heating element embedded in an aluminum channel.

Without a tight fit, localized hot spots can develop in the band and cause the nickel-chromium resistance wire to fail. As a rule, the higher the working temperatures, the more critical a tight setting becomes. Mica tape heaters are constructed with precision-wound nickel-chromium resistance wire around a mica plate, which is then placed between two additional mica blades.

Notched edges fold to secure the ends, and a protective lining ensures the placement of the tiles. This combined set of ceramic belt heating provides a flexible heating system that generates efficient transmission of conduction and radiant heat. Like many maintenance products used in the plastic injection molding industry, belt heaters are often not in the foreground until a problem occurs.
